Survivor
One of the survivors of the 1949 Waterval-Boven train disaster. A story I'm covering for the next edition of our newspaper-The Mpumalanga Explorer. I'm quite pleased with the photographs on the day and this is one of my best portraits in a long time.
I have been so busy over the last few weeks as we worked towards making the deadline for our first issue, and then we spent two days distributing the paper over a very large area. Still today we have to continue delivering, but at least the outlying areas are done and it's only our town Nelspruit, Barberton and Kaapschehoop to go.
The enthusiasm with wich the paper was met is encouraging and we are expecting the next edition to grow from the meagre 12pages of the first one, to at least double that figure. Many more late nights ahead.
