Just a Puppy

This for Catherine.
Myself (far left) and My sister (second from right) with our cousins, taking a cookie break from playing.
I was very shy as a kid. This is a rare photo of me with a group. Most of our family archives have me on my own in the photos. I could never blame other kids when I was naughty and heading for a hiding, because I almost always played by myself.

And what an adorable puppy you were. Ah, Chi, this is a gorgeous photo!

I can see she's your sister, if only by the haircut :) your mom do that herself? Moms are great that way :P

I used to play the most fun games by myself too. :) My cousins just weren't that interested. Like when I'd imagine I was an archaeologist, I'd pack my little bag with my brushes and paper to draw maps on. All of 8/ 9 years old. I'd disappear for hours. Bring back samples of broken crockery I'd "dig" up :) It was fun..

No photos of that though. :) There is this one photo. Should post it sometime. Really prophetic of who we were and who we'd become. The 5 of us, on a branch. My sister and my 3 cousins dressed in colourful swimming costumes/ white towelling robes after a day at the beach, all looking in one direction. Me in black. Looking down..

Thanks for this. :) Much appreciated.

Hi Catherine,

I thought you might enjoy the pic. Yes mom's attempt at sorting a nasty cow-lick came horribly undone. He, he.
I myself would dissapear for hours on end, and I still do, at the dismay of dearest B. I've explored our farm and local area to all ends. It's in the blood.
